Chapter Two
The Perfect Fulfilment of Wishes
The king Trisong Deutsen again speak to Guru Rinpoche: "Great master! Please tell us, at that time, in front of this inconceivable great stupa, what are the wishes and prayers made? And how do these wishes being fulfilled."
Guru Rinpoche answered: "Maharaja, please listen to what I say. When the great buddha stupa was empowered, rain of flowers fell, these various strange scene and various types miraculous display can be seen. At this time, all the buddhas, bodhisattvas and sangha in one voice told those sponsors and faithful people: " Listen carefully! Fortunate disciples. Due to the pure heart that arises the auspicious wish to build the great buddha stupa. This buddha stupa was the highest storage place of immeasurable immaculate kayas, which is indifferentiable with the hearts of the Tathagatas of the three worlds. Due to this great empowerment, no matter what wishes you made, all shall be actualize."
"The chicken-rearing woman's four sons said to each other: Due to mother's great wish, only then did the building of buddha stupa started. Due to mother's dying instructions, only then do we continue to finish the great buddha stupa's construction and empowerment, only then can we witness the face of the ten directional buddhas and bodhisattvas. Now due to this merit, no matter what wishes we make, they can be actualize. If we wish to request some world insignificant things, how unwise that would be !"
"The elder son who is the son of the horse-rearer after precise consideration said: "At the wild region of the northern snowy environment, which was surrounded by white snow, and buried by great flood, in the summer day, this was the home of the water birds, in the winter this is a great wide snowy land. This place has been prophecied that in the future it will be flow away by flood, and that the refuge lord of sentient beings bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, with the teaching of buddha Sakyamuni shall teach the sentient beings of this place. That this time, all the buddhas' teaching shall be spread throughout the whole snowy land. My wish is to that I can establish the buddhadharma in the land of snow."
"As such the elder son made his wish: "May I with a pure heart and prayer, with all the merit of building the great buddha stupa, to be dedicated to the future of my becoming the king of the northern snowy land of wild men and the protector of buddhadharma. During the contaminated age where the 5 poisons burning wild, where sentient beings fight against each other, and fell into decay, may I become the propagator of buddhadharma."
"The second son, the son of the pig-rearer also make a wish saying: With this merit of building the great buddha stupa, may it be dedicated to that after my elder brother in the northern wild and snowy land reborn as a dharmarja, and having propagated the buddhadharma, at this time if they need to build a sangha, as the abbot of buddhadharma, may I become an arahat monk, in the future ordaining all monk, establishing the sangha assembly."
"Later, the third son, the son of the dog-rearer also make a wish: "With the merit of completing the great buddha stupa, may it be dedicated to the future when my two brothers have established the buddhadharma in the wild snowy land, when people following the buddhadharma, may I not be born from a woman's womb, and be born from a lotus. Destroying the continuation of life and death, may I possessed the longevity like the sun and moon. May I be able to subdued the devas, men, ghosts and demons and others, and be able to tame the wild land's fierce and uncivilized people. May I be reborn as a vajrayana yogin, a mantra practitioner, to protect and guide the buddhadharma established by my two elder brothers."
"Lastly, the smallest son, the son of the chicken-rearer make this wish: "With the merit of completing the great stupa, when the 3 brothers in the wild land of snow have established, strengthen and protect the buddhadharma, may I be reborn as a great minister to establish link between the activities of the three of you."
"After the four sons have made their wishes, the ten directional buddhas and bodhisattvas in different mouths but one voice praised: "Good men, fortunate sons, you were able to make right, true, exalted, and selfless auspicious wishes. The ten directional Tathagatas in voice praise accordingly. The merit of your making the auspicious wishes is inconceivable, unspeakable, immeasurable. All the buddhas of the three worlds are difficult to compare."
"After that, all the ten directional buddhas and bodhisattvas instantly transformed into light and dissolved within the great stupa. As such the great buddha stupa was called 'All Buddhas' Perfection Stupa'."
"At this time, there was one blood-drinking insect staying on the neck of the horse-bleeder's son, and fiercely bitten him once. The horse-bleeder's son wave it away with his hand, as such causing the insect to die. With immeasurable compassion he make this wish: "When I become a king at the wild land of snow, may this insect become the prince to practice the buddhadharma."
"The donkey who used to carried the gravel and rocks was present in the field, after he heard them making various wishes, it also think of making a wish, but was lacked of the ability and wisdom, it cannot think of any words of wishes. The donkey became very angry, as such arise some evil thoughts: "In the future, when the horse-breeder's son being reborn as dharmaraja, and established the buddhadharma at the wild land of snow, I shall be reborn as a high official who is fond of creating conflicts, I shall cause all the king's work to become inefficient."
"The four sons' servant knew about the donkey's evil thought, as such made the following wish: "When the donkey was reborn as an evil high official to destroy the propagation of buddhadharma, may I be reborn as a high official who is smart, wise and following buddhadharma, I shall cause his wise scheme to fall into the void."
"The big elephant also thought of making a wish, but due to lack of wisdom, as such became very angry: "In order to build the great buddha stupa, I carried gravel, rocks and other heavy things, but there is nothing to receive in return. When the four sons in the wild land of snow have established the buddhadharma, may I be reborn as the king's great grandson, in order to destroy the buddhadharma."
"In the near-by tree, there was a black bird who heard this evil wish, as such arise an auspicious wish. It made this wish saying: "When the big elephant was reborn as the evil king who destroyed the buddhadharma, may I be reborn as a maha bodhisattva, and be able to kill this evil king."
"There were two brahmin youth wearing sacred yellow silk, who participated the Maha Buddha Stupa's opening empowerment ceremony, also make a wish: "When the precious buddhadharma was established in the wild land of snow, may the two of us become great translators with ability to translate all of the sutras."
"Among the participants of the ceremony, there were two wise girls of the king's race, also made a wish: "When the buddhadharma was propagated in the wild land of snow, may the two of us be reborn as highly learnt scholars with ability to copy and duplicate the buddhist sutras, and making commentaries."
"At that time there were countless people who have made countless auspicious wishes to benefit sentient beings. The elder son, the horse-breeder's son who made a wish to become a king, is you raja, the dharma protector Trisong Deutsen. The son of the pig-breeder who made a wish to become the monk abbot is the present abbot Bodhisattva Siadela Kashida. The dog-breeder's son who wish to become Vajrayana yogin is me, Urgein Rinpoche, Padmasambhava. The chicken-breeder's son who made a wish to become the high official who believe in buddhadharma is the present king of Yalong. The bee that has been killed, after making the wish, is the present princes Pema Sarsu. The stupid donkey who wish to become an evil high official is the present evil minister Masian Chunshi. The servant who wish to be reborn as the great minister possessing buddhadharma in order to destroy the evil-doer who destroy buddhadharma, is the present Pema Kunchan. The stupid elephant who wish to destroy the buddhadharma, will be reborn as your great grandson, which name will be Landama. The black bird with its heart of compassion wishes in the future to kill the evil destroyer is the present prince Mulu Chenpo. In the future when the big elephant was reincarnated as the destroyer of buddhadharma, he shall be reborn as bodhisattva Lalon, Pachit Dorje, and shall kill the destroyer. The two brahmin youth who wish to become translator, are the present Kapapaza and Chiujo Lichianchen. The two princes who wish to become sutras' copier, are the present Tianma Zheman and Leyin Nyingma."
After master Padmasambhava finished his disclosure, the king Trisong Deutsen and all the high official were astonished uncomparably. For three times they prostrated to master Padmasambhava, and for the sake of buddhadharma and the benefit of sentient beings, again they sincere make their wishes for the third time.
