Necessity of Venerating Stupa

THE MERIT OF PAYING RESPECT TO BUDDHA STATUS AND STUPAS:

Whenever one see a Buddha Status and Stupa, one should has the heart of veneration, and should not have any thought of dishonor, one should not destroy it. Even to place it on the bed, or on the floor, even to step over, the negative transgression will be great.

According to Sakyapa Kensa Sheychen Rinpoche revealed great heart's essence: "There's a man who saw a small earth stupa in the mist of falling rain quickly pick up some grass to cover it. Another man came and took the covering grass to help clean his dirt; For these 2 men, by such merit, including the latter and the one who made the stupa, these 3 men will become the Wheel Turning Lord (Universal Monarch) of the Golden Wheel (Skt. chakra)." As such it is said that by hearing the name of the 3 jewels, or seeing the Buddha status, stupa, all can become the seed of Buddha.
